Stories & advice
Ron loved telling stories from the past and passing along little pieces of wisdom. Some were truer than others, and some stories may have grown with each retelling - but they were always unmistakably his.
In memory of
October 19, 1965 to July 1, 2026
A lifelong student of the game, a hard worker, a storyteller, and someone who always had an opinion ready.

Sports were the throughline of Ron's life. Football was not simply something he watched - it was something he studied, remembered, and argued about with the confidence of an encyclopedia.
He played football during his days at Macomber High School in Toledo, a school now gone but still part of his story. Long after high school, he knew the rosters, the statistics, the history, and the stakes. The Denver Broncos had his loyalty through the lean years, which made the day John Elway led them to their first Super Bowl victory one of the happiest moments those close to him ever saw.
The Buckeyes and Detroit Red Wings had his attention too. A game was never just background noise around Ron; it was a reason to settle in, know the details, trust a superstition, and have a point of view.

He was strong and hardworking. In his younger days he exercised often; later, long workdays and family life asked more of his time and energy. He knew the pride of steady work and the hard turns life can take when a job disappears.

Ron loved hard rock, and that love travelled. Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper, and concerts shared with his son became part of a connection that lasted.
04
He could be superstitious, spoke about God in his own way, and was convinced that with enough thought he might someday turn the lottery into a science.
“A lifelong Broncos fan, finally rewarded.”
